Helios is a fully equipped Pilates studio in Toronto's West end. Pilates is a body conditioning method developed by Joseph H. Pilates over 80 years ago.  This complete exercise system strengthens + lengthens muscles within the body.  Movements are low-impact and are done in sequence with repetition.  Pilates focuses on the 'Core'; the muscles of the stomach, back + pelvic floor.  With emphasis on breathing techniques and mindful movement, Helios practices thoughtful and custom exercises to promote both physical and mental well-being in balance.  Personal sequences to accommodate and challenge each body are developed: form and angles are adjusted, props are used, movements are explored, modified, built upon and perfected.
